Expensive Details Arise in Kevin Costner Divorce
Everyone knows that Hollywood marriages rarely last, but you don’t often hear how they cost a pretty penny – and for actor Kevin Costner and his soon-to-be ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, the costs were made apparent in legal papers filed last week.
According to court documents filed last Wednesday, 28 June, the 68-year-old “Dances with Wolves” star explained that 49-year-old Baumgartner has inaccurate information regarding how much he earns, claiming that he earns “substantially less” than what he did last year.
The legal response details Costner’s diminished earnings due to his part as patriarch John Dutton in the Western drama, “Yellowstone”, concluding with its fifth final season this year.
Latest in the courtroom drama comes after his estranged wife initiated divorce proceedings on 1 May in Santa Barbara County, California.
The bitter, ongoing split has Costner claiming he “cannot afford” to honour Baumgartner’s $248 000-per-month alimony request to support the three children they share: 16-year-old Cayden Wyatt, 14-year-old Hayes Logan and 13-year-old Grace Avery.
In addition, he has claimed that she spends on frivolous expenses such as cosmetic surgery, shopping, construction loans and other amounts that do not go towards their children’s standard of living.
Reports claim that Baumgartner will challenge the couple’s prenuptial agreement in court on Wednesday, 5 July.
